Job Description

Amazon Health Services Legal is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as legal counsel supporting our Senior Health business. This role primarily involves supporting Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and other value based care business initiatives as well as advising on general healthcare regulatory matters. Key job responsibilities - Analyze healthcare regulatory issues related to government payors, value-based care models, and strategic partnerships - Draft agreements leveraging AI tools to build in efficiencies and quality - Proactively identify risk and formulate strategic approaches to optimize business performance - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on policy matters and support government agency interactions, including inquiries and audits A day in the life You will have experience working with government programs and payors, including drafting and reviewing agreements, and advising on legal issues relevant to our business and strategy. You will effectively manage complex provider transactions, including shared savings/gainsharing contracts, capitation, and other at-risk arrangements. To drive efficiency and consistency, you will build AI tools (e.g., transactional self-service) to expand your reach and impact. You will collaborate across business teams, developing trusting relationships and guiding key stakeholders. About the team You'll join a legal team focused on healthcare programs and government payor initiatives. The team advises on Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and value-based care, partnering with stakeholders across policy, compliance, and business functions to navigate regulatory challenges and support strategic partnerships.

169,300 - 229,000 USD / yearly

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent (experience)
  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience (experience, 5 years)
  • Knowledge of Medicare Shared Savings Program, Medicare ACO programs, value-based arrangements and relevant safe harbors. (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within health systems, healthcare organizations, or health plans (experience)
  • Working across both government and private payor programs with ability to evaluate programs holistically rather than through a single regulatory lens (experience)
  • In-house counsel experience with law firm background (experience)
