Why good candidates get filtered out
Most resumes are never rejected by a person. They are parsed by software, sorted against the words in the posting, and never surfaced. That is fixable, and it has nothing to do with how good you are at the job — only with whether the resume is readable by a machine and written in the vocabulary the posting uses.

- What is an ATS, and why would it reject my resume?
- An applicant tracking system is the software an employer uses to store and filter applications. It parses your resume into fields — roles, dates, skills — and recruiters then search and sort on those fields. A resume gets buried when the parse goes wrong (columns, tables, text inside images) or when it simply does not contain the words the posting is written in.
- What does this check actually tell me?
- It compares your saved resume against a job description you paste in and reports four things: whether the resume parses cleanly, which keywords from that posting are present and which are missing, how your skills line up against the ones being asked for, and section-by-section feedback on what to change.
- Is it scoring me against a real employer ATS?
- No, and nothing that claims to be can. Every employer runs a different system with different settings, and none of them publish their scoring. This checks the things that are true across all of them — clean parsing, and whether your resume speaks the vocabulary the posting uses.
- Do I need to upload a resume first?
- Yes. The check runs against the resume saved on your profile, so you need to upload or build one before the analysis has anything to read. You can see the whole tool and what it returns before doing either.
- What does it cost?
- Each analysis costs 9 credits. New accounts start with credits included, so the first checks cost nothing beyond signing up.
- Should I just stuff my resume with keywords from the posting?
- No. Recruiters read the resume after the system surfaces it, and a keyword-stuffed one gets discarded by the human instead of the software. Use the missing-keyword list to find real experience you left out or described in different words — not to bolt on skills you do not have.
