Job Description

The CloudTune Capacity Assurance Tech for SDO (CATS) Engineering team builds and operates automated systems that ensure Amazon's internal businesses have the right compute capacity at the right time and the lowest possible cost. Our systems manage capacity lifecycle end-to-end: discovering idle and underutilized resources, automating capacity returns, enforcing utilization targets, and fulfilling GPU and CPU capacity requests across SDO. We serve thousands of internal customers spanning WW Stores, Digital, Alexa, Advertising, and AWS-dependent workloads. We are seeking a results-oriented Technical Program Manager to own the operational execution of our GPU fulfillment lifecycle and capacity assurance programs. You will be responsible for management and allocation of GPU capacity to SDO, driving supply and supportability with AWS, and enabling Amazon businesses to leverage new AWS regions. You will drive the transition from manual fulfillment processes to automated, engineering-owned workflows — managing day-to-day operations while partnering with engineers to progressively eliminate manual toil. You will work across organizational boundaries with AWS supply teams, SDO business customers, and internal engineering partners to ensure reliable capacity delivery and improve the efficiency and scale of our business. You will have a proven track record of planning and delivering complex programs with multi-year roadmap, using Agile and incremental delivery methods. You will have experience influencing architectural change across thousands of teams and you can succinctly communicate with engineers to senior VPs. Key job responsibilities * You will be responsible for day to day GPU management operations * You will drive the transition from manual fulfillment to automated team-owned workflows, defining milestones and managing the glide path * You will be responsible for the strategic roadmap and tactical milestones of the GPU Program * You will contribute to the Monthly Program Reviews and leadership updates for the Program , you will be required to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences including Directors and VPs across SDO businesses * You will be responsible for diving deep into data and metrics, understanding them well to drive and influence decisions and stay connected to the details * You will be responsible to drive decisions in an ambiguous environment by proactively identifying risks and bringing them to the attention of stakeholders with mitigation plans before they become roadblocks. * You will need a strong bias for action and be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously * Your ability to understand the big picture and plan ahead for dependencies and roadblocks is crucial. * Throughout, you will internalize Amazon’s Leadership Principles, and live those into everyday practices to guide your programs to success. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of technical program management experience 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams A day in the life Your primary focus is keeping GPU capacity flowing to the teams that need it — triaging requests, prioritizing allocations, and unblocking fulfillment with our AWS partners. You'll track what's allocated, what's stuck, and where the bottlenecks are. You'll work closely with software engineers to figure out which manual steps to automate next. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll shape how we evolve from reactive to proactive, self-service capacity delivery.
