We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Commercial Data Product Lead to join our Data Innovation team. This role is located in New York, NYRole Summary: The Commercial Data Product Lead will define and lead the strategy for BNY’s portfolio of enterprise investment data products. This leader will transform the firm’s unique data assets into scalable, commercially valuable products that power portfolio intelligence, NAV, investment operations, AI applications, and client workflows. This role sits at the intersection of product management, investment data, client strategy, and technology. The successful candidate will establish the vision for how enterprise data is packaged, standardized, governed, and delivered as reusable products across multiple client segments and business lines. Rather than owning a single product or platform, this leader will build and manage the commercial product portfolio, working closely with domain product owners, engineering, AI teams, sales, and client-facing organizations to ensure products solve meaningful client problems while creating reusable enterprise capabilities. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Define the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the enterprise portfolio of commercial data productsIdentify high-value market opportunities by partnering with clients, business leaders, and product organizations to understand emerging Jobs-to-be-DoneEstablish reusable investment data products spanning public and private markets, portfolio analytics, NAV, pricing positions, reference data, corporate actions, ESG, and other investment domainsLead the evolution from bespoke client solutions to standardized, configurable enterprise products that can scale across the marketPartner with Data Strategy Lead and Domain Product Owners to prioritize capabilities and ensure consistent product direction across domainsCollaborate with AI, semantic modeling, and engineering teams to incorporate enterprise metadata, ontology, knowledge graph, and AI capabilities into commercial offeringsDevelop business cases, product investment priorities, pricing strategies, adoption metrics, and commercial success measuresPartner with Sales, Relationship Management, and Client Success to support go-to-market activities and product adoptionRepresent the voice of the market in executive planning and strategic investment decisions To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 12+ years of experience in product management, investment data, financial technology, or enterprise softwareDeep knowledge of investment operations, asset servicing, portfolio analytics, or capital marketsProven experience building enterprise-scale B2B data or software productsStrong commercial mindset with experience balancing client needs, engineering investment, and business outcomesDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional organizations and influence senior executivesExperience with data platforms, cloud technologies, AI-enabled products, semantic technologies, or data governance is highly desirable Preferred ExperienceEnterprise investment data platformsPortfolio analytics and total portfolio reportingNAV, accounting, custody, or middle-office operationsData commercialization and licensingAI-powered analytics and knowledge platformsProduct portfolio managementData Mesh, metadata management, and semantic technologies
