Role PurposeWe are looking for a competent and proactive finance professional to support the Finance Manager and CFO in a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic insurance business, working across teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of financial reporting, statutory submissions, reconciliations, and audit deliverables. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of:Reinsurance balance reconciliations (IRAS), including reinsurance account settlementsMonthly reconciliation of premium due from brokers, cedants, agents, and customersMonthly investment and investment income statementsMonthly and quarterly submissionsSubmissions to government departments and trade bodiesAged balances analysis and correspondence for premium collectionOutward and inward remittance documents, including Proceed Realization Certificates Review of submissions prepared by finance staff, including:Periodic federal and provincial tax/levies submissions and paymentsPayment and receipt vouchersFederal Insurance FeeMonthly bank reconciliationsMonthly insurance stamps reconciliationMonthly petty cash reconciliationFixed assets registerCompany insurances Timely payment of all regulatory fees and trade body membership charges.Liaise with business and claims teams to ensure premium and claims bookings and reconciliations are accurate and completed on time.Provide timely, accurate information to the Finance Manager, highlighting key issues and matters requiring immediate attention. Support and coordinate audit activities through to successful completion.Provide prompt information to support:Company statutory returnsRegional submissionsMonthly report analysis and variance commentaryMaintain effective coordination across departments to support annual IFSR rating review submissions and bank panel enlistment requirements.Work closely with lines of business, customers, cedants, brokers, and agents to support timely premium collection and actively contribute to credit control meetings.
