Job Description

The Personal Contents Property Adjuster is responsible for managing a caseload of personal property claims arising from fire, water, pest infestation, and theft at storage facilities. This role involves reviewing rental agreements, investigating losses through available evidence such as video surveillance and gate logs, obtaining statements from the facility, insured, and witnesses, and validating submitted worksheets of personal property values.The adjuster will also manage independent adjusters and experts, interpret policy language to determine coverage and payment decisions, maintain and evaluate reserves, prepare coverage letters and reports, and deliver high-quality customer service.This position reports to the Team Leader. The selected candidate should demonstrate initiative, strong prioritization skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting claim handling standards and industry best practices.This role requires working in the office a minimum of three days per week.Position ResponsibilitiesInvestigate facts of loss, including the use of computerized estimating tools for personal property damageConduct coverage analysis to determine eligibility and applicable exclusionsPrepare coverage letters, including disclaimers and Reservation of Rights letters, for customersEnsure timely posting of loss and expense reserves and manage claims from assignment through resolutionReview and follow client handling instructionsResolve claims promptly and fairlyMaintain accurate claim data through proper coding and system useDemonstrate strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills Strong project management skills with the ability to work independentlyProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong writing skills, particularly in relation to policy interpretationStrong customer service skillsExperience with claims handling systemsExperience evaluating property damage estimates, such as XactimateAdjuster licensing is a plusClaims handling experience preferredAbility to collaborate effectively with others and adapt to changing priorities and circumstancesAn applicable resident or designated home state adjuster’s license is required for ESIS Field Claims Adjusters. Adjusters that do not fulfill the license requirements will not meet ESIS’s employment requirements for handling claims. ESIS supports independent self-study time and will allow up to 4 months to pass the adjuster licensing exam.ESIS, a Chubb company, provides claim and risk management services to a wide variety of commercial clients. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
