A central mandate of this role is to create a strategic domain API layer that enables Insurance-as-a-Service across Life products, capabilities, markets, and distribution channels, while rationalizing the existing API estate into a governed, reusable, secure, and scalable catalogue. You will define and industrialize modern integration strategy, API architecture, middleware patterns, event-driven services, governance standards, reusable integration assets, and secure delivery practices across markets. This role requires a technology leader who can shape the integration roadmap, lead a high-performing COE, partner with CIOs, CTOs, architects, engineering leaders, security, infrastructure, data, and business stakeholders, and drive reliable, scalable, reusable, and cost-effective integration outcomes that accelerate Life modernization and platform transformation.Key Responsibilities:Define and lead the Life Technology Integration COE strategy, operating model, roadmap, delivery standards, governance, and capability-building agendaCreate and own the Life domain API strategy and reference architecture to enable Insurance-as-a-Service, exposing reusable business capabilities such as quote, application, underwriting, policy, billing, claims, customer, advisor, document, payment, and servicing APIsDefine the operating model for domain API product ownership, including API taxonomy, capability mapping, reuse principles, design standards, experience APIs versus system APIs, consumption patterns, developer onboarding, and adoption governance across Life marketsDrive integration delivery across Life modernization initiatives, including policy administration platforms, digital portals, agency platforms, customer investment portals, data platforms, finance, operations, and regulatory workflowsRationalize the Life Technology API estate by identifying duplicate, overlapping, obsolete, point-to-point, and market-specific APIs, consolidating them into a governed catalogue of reusable domain APIs with clear ownership, standards, versioning, lifecycle management, and adoption targetsOwn integration governance across design reviews, API standards, security controls, non-functional requirements, observability, release readiness, production stability, documentation, and lifecycle managementPartner with market CIOs, CTOs, architects, product leaders, engineering teams, security, infrastructure, cloud, data, and vendor teams to align integration delivery with business priorities and transformation outcomesLead modernization of legacy point-to-point interfaces into strategic API-led and event-driven integration capabilities that reduce complexity, improve scalability, and enable reuse across marketsDrive engineering excellence across the COE through CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, API security, performance engineering, resilience testing, observability, and production support disciplineShape vendor strategy and delivery governance for integration platforms and partner delivery, ensuring clear accountability, quality outcomes, commercial discipline, and progressive capability insourcing where appropriateEmbed AI-native engineering practices within integration delivery, including AI-assisted design, code generation, test automation, documentation, impact analysis, production diagnostics, and secure human-in-the-loop controlsTrack COE performance through measurable indicators such as reuse, API adoption, delivery predictability, defect leakage, production stability, automation coverage, cycle time, and cost optimizationCoach and develop senior engineers, architects, integration leads, and delivery squads, building a strong talent pipeline and a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline;
