Emerson in Tulsa, OK is looking to add to our team! As a Buyer, you would be responsible for collaborating on sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing operations for the oil & gas field. This role works closely with suppliers, production, planning, engineering, and inventory teams to ensure timely delivery of quality materials. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and customer skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Evaluate supplier performance, communicate results, develop, and implement strategies and tactics for improvementPrepare Purchase Orders and Request for Quotes, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and servicesResearch and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and historyAssist material flow from suppliers through Reschedule Ins, Reschedule Outs, expedites, cancellations, issuance of purchase orders, purchase order releases and requisitionsResolve Contract/Purchase Order, payment, and quality problems with suppliersProvide commodity forecast data to suppliers; establish appropriate order lot size and packaging quantities to achieve optimum material flow and inventory objectivesResolve delivery/receiving problems to ensure shipments arrive timely and resolve issues related to undelivered goodsCollaborate cross-functionally on forecasts, NPD projects, reporting, and process improvements For This Role, You Will Need:Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent experience of manufacturing or operations related history Understanding of inventory control practices, material planning, and production scheduling concepts Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related fieldExperience working with an ERP system, preferably OraclePrior experience supporting oil & gas equipment or related industry products Our Culture & Commitment to You:At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
