Job Description

Emerson is seeking a motivated and collaborative Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of control system solutions for New Generation Projects across North America. Based in Cranberry Township, PA, this role is part of a dedicated team advancing emerging and evolving power generation technologies. You will focus on engineering execution, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, customers, and internal partners to deliver reliable, high-quality control systems. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Design, configure, and implement control system solutions for new generation power projectsDevelop high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, performance, and reliabilityCollaborate with engineers, project teams, customers, and architect/engineering (A/E) firms to support system design and technical alignmentConfigure and test Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platformsParticipate in Design Review Meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and onsite system commissioning activitiesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues during engineering, testing, and commissioning phasesApply and follow established engineering standards, tools, and best practicesSupport continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical solutionsContribute to customer discussions, technical presentations, and proposal development as needed Who You Are:You build strong, cooperative relationships and work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared goals. For This Role, You Will Need:Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or similar STEM degree or combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial environmentsExperience with new generation or emerging power technologies (e.g., renewables integration, hydrogen, energy storage, or advanced thermal systems)Experience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms.Ability to travel up to 30% domestically Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Exposure to power plant systems, operations, or modernization projectsExperience supporting system testing, commissioning, or customer-facing technical activitiesInterest in developing deeper technical specialization within control systemsOur Culture & Commitment to You:At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
