Job Description

Emerson is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer – Power Retrofits to join our Power and Water Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA (Greater Pittsburgh area). In this role, you will support the design and delivery of Emerson’s award-winning Ovation™ Distributed Control System (DCS) for power generation modernization projects across North America. You will contribute to meaningful work that helps customers improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of critical infrastructure while continuing to deepen your technical expertise in a collaborative engineering environment.This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, learning from experienced peers, and growing into increased technical ownership over time. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Contribute to the application design and engineering execution of power retrofit projectsDevelop high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and performanceCollaborate with senior engineers, project managers, customers, and architect/engineering (A/E) firms to support system design and technical alignmentParticipate in Design Review Meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and onsite system commissioning activitiesSupport development and tracking of engineering plans and project documentationAssist with identifying and resolving technical issues, escalating as appropriateApply and follow established engineering standards, tools, and best practicesSupport customer presentations and proposal development as needed Who You Are: You build effective working relationships and collaborate openly across teams. For This Role, You Will Need:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience 5–7 years of engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial environmentsExperience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platformsAbility to be based in the Greater Pittsburgh area or relocate, with willingness to travel up to 20% within North AmericaRelocation assistance is available for qualified candidatesLegal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
