In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Regularly attend and participate in project conference calls for product developments to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressedAnalyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentationDetermine the needs of those who use our technical documentationDevelop, write, and support end-user documentation that includes high-level technical content, reference material, and detailed, task-specific work instructionsWrite or revise supporting content for new and existing productsWrite end-user documentation for a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural audience, including process control operators, control systems maintenance and design engineers, configuration engineers, and othersWork in DITA CMS to write new documentation and maintain existing documentation.Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverablesMaintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external useFollow the standard processes outlined by Emerson for writing style, format, and contentExplore complex technical products and provide technically accurate and audience-focused documents for new and existing functionality in software and hardwareBe responsible for driving the review and approval of technical content within the document management system Who You Are:Cross-functional teammateDetail-oriented, organized, flexible, and proactive team playerShould be able to take decisions, in the absence of complete informationDetermined to achieve your goals, despite facing obstacles Comfortable working in an Agile development environmentWilling to accept feedback and implement changes quickly and with a positive attitudeOpen to change and continue to learn and experience new opportunities For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 3+ year of relevant experienceExceptional English writing and verbal communication skills and experience in writing technical documentsAbility to develop product understanding by working closely with product developers in an Agile development environmentAbility to design and organize document structureInterest in hands-on installation, configuration and use of the software to further develop product understandingUnderstanding of accepted technical writing style conventionsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyAbility to simultaneously handle multiple projects and monitor their progress with minimal supervisionExcellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesStrong research skills Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Experience with modular documentation (for example, DITA XML) and DITA component content management systemsExperience working with large Microsoft Word documents and Adobe Suits.Desire to seek continuous improvements and innovationExperience in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPointDemonstrated internships in technical writing/information developmentKnowledge of Industrial Controls (for Example DCS or PLCs) Our Culture & Commitment to You: At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
