Responsibilities:Manage and supervise the daily operations of Tool Room and Tool Crib.Ensure the timely availability of tools, fixtures, and equipment required to support production schedules.Manage inventories of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, gauges, fixtures, and consumable materials.Establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.Coordinate the procurement of tooling, equipment, and related services.Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and technical support agreements with suppliers.Supervise tool assembly, presetting, and preparation for CNC machining centers.Monitor and control cutting tool life through tooling management systems and performance analysis.Implement tooling optimization programs to reduce costs and improve productivity.Develop and maintain tooling databases, cutting parameters, and tooling specifications.Coordinate the repair, maintenance, and calibration of tooling and measurement equipment.Ensure proper identification, storage, traceability, and handling of all tooling assets.Provide technical support to Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance departments regarding tooling applications and performance.Participate in new product introductions and manufacturing process development activities.Lead tooling cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.Implement continuous improvement methodologies to optimize setup times and tool change processes.Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics.Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental procedures and standards.Manage, coach, and develop personnel within the Tool Room and Tool Crib organization.Promote workplace organization and housekeeping through 5S principles.
