Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the store’s Home and Electronics departments to achieve desired sales objectives, goals and budgets. Responsible for staffing the departments and developing associates to achieve desire results. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Ensure that the Home and Electronics departments meet/exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness and cleanliness Interview, select and hire candidates to staff the Home and Electronics departments Train associates on all functions and duties within the Home and Electronics departments Achieve/exceed weekly, period and annual sales, wage budgets and other targeted goals, including customer satisfaction Lead the teams in the planning, implementation and execution of company initiatives Demonstrate creative merchandising for maximum sales impact Monitor and control expenses for the department Maintain all shrink control, freight receiving/stocking and shipping/receiving standards Utilize MAGIC system to maintain ordering and stock levels Manage markdown process following company guidelines Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions Physical demands include, but are not limited to, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds several times throughout the day, standing for extended periods of time and/or walking constantly, and stooping, kneeling or crouching several times per hour Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation MinimumHigh school diploma or equivalent Effective communication skills Strong organizational skills Strong leadership skills Proficient knowledge of computers Proven supervisory experience Prior experience in the selection and hiring process Forklift certification DesiredTwo years’ management experience Bachelor’s degree
