We are seeking a Principal Digital Factory UX/UI Test Engineer to serve as the UI/UX design authority and front-end test expert for our digital manufacturing applications. This role drives the creation of intuitive operator experiences, validates front-end functionality, establishes test best practices, and builds regression test automation that ensures reliable, high-quality releases.Raytheon Innovators – Advanced ManufacturingWhat You Will Do The Principal Digital Factory UX/UI Test Engineer leads UI/UX design, front-end testing, usability validation, and regression automation for Ignition-based applications, MES workflows, dashboards, and IIoT-enabled systems. The engineer partners with manufacturing engineers, software developers, and stakeholders to design intuitive user interfaces, validate operator workflows, prevent defects, and establish department-wide testing standards.UI/UX Design LeadershipLead the design of modern, intuitive UI/UX for Ignition screens, MES workflows, dashboards, and digital factory applications.Develop wireframes, prototypes, and final layouts using tools such as Figma and Ignition Designer.Establish consistent UX patterns, visual standards, and interaction guidelines for all CFI applications.Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure designs align with operator needs and manufacturing workflows.Front-End Testing & ValidationOwn the front-end testing strategy for digital factory applications across CFI.Develop and execute structured test plans for usability, workflow accuracy, interface clarity, error-handling behavior, and navigation flow.Validate implementation fidelity between UX designs and deployed features.Conduct iterative UI/UX reviews and acceptance testing to prevent defects from entering production environments.Testing Standards & Department Best PracticesDefine testing best practices, templates, and guidelines for software engineers and stakeholders.Establish test case documentation standards, release readiness expectations, and UX validation processes.Train engineers on testing fundamentals, Azure DevOps workflows, defect triage, and UI/UX acceptance criteria.Automated Regression TestingBuild and maintain automated regression tests focused on front-end interactions, click-path validation, and navigation behavior.Use tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar Python-based automation frameworks to simulate user workflows.Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines and ensure consistent operation before releases.What You Will LearnOpportunities to lead UI/UX strategy and testing modernization across CFI.Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies, digital manufacturing innovation, and advanced automation.Leadership experience shaping how future digital factory applications are designed, validated, and deployed.Mentoring and collaboration across cross-functional engineering and operations teams.Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, front-end testing, human-machine interfaces, or digital manufacturing systems.Experience designing user-centric interfaces using Figma, Ignition, or similar tools.Experience in front-end testing, UX validation, and test plan development. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
