Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.What You Will DoPratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) team is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineering Professional. The Project Engineer will be responsible for part-level ownership, task planning, and execution to ensure the IPT achieves goals for the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). The IPT has responsibility for the entire life cycle of the part and as such the Project Engineer will be engaged in activities ranging from validation testing to Engineering Changes, from production delivery support to field support and investigations. Qualified candidates need to be able to effectively lead a team of individuals to meet requirements and achieve goals. Candidates need to be technically proficient, communicate effectively, and be customer focused.Provide project management and leadership to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) that includes design, structural, durability, aero, materials and manufacturing engineers.Lead the IPT through successful technical and program reviews, including the management and closure of key technical risks and issuesPlan and manage IPT budgets, schedule, and technical metrics to requirements in collaboration with the CIPT.Be accountable to CIPT for part level ownership, including communication, risk management, and execution to program requirements.Participate with the CIPT in communicating to engineering and program management.Coordinating designs (Engineering Changes), Fabrication (manufacturing/suppliers/vendor trips), validation (Engine Build-Test-Teardown, ACIs- Analytical Condition Inspection, FMRs- Failure Malfunction Report), and sustainment (Component Field Limits, Merlins-Field Inquiries, Deviation Requests) activities.Travel is up to 10%.English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.Qualifications You Must HaveBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree in Engineering or MBA with 5 years of experience4 years of project engineering or project management experienceQualifications We PreferMinor in Aerospace.Project Management CertificationTrained CAM & Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAPDemonstrated successful experience using AgileEngineering experience in design, manufacture, development, validation, entry into service and support of field service issues.Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional teams and effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and levels of management.Demonstrated experience managing budgets and schedules.Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.Experience executing Engineering Changes through the Product Change and Incorporation Review process (PCIR).Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g., CORE, QCPC, Process Certification).What We Offer:Employee Scholar ProgramLearn More & Apply Now!Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models.
