The Lab Technician performs basic technical tests on products and samples. Primary responsibility will be color matching customer samples to fill color requests. Other responsibilities may include preparing and analyzing materials and samples, performing basic calculations, and cleaning and maintaining the lab. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Perform basic paint and paint making processes, meeting manufacturing specifications Perform basic coating formulations, applications, and physical/performance test methodsProvide timely and accurate data to help resolve field complaints, raw material issues, manufacturing problems, and support existing and new product development Cleans, maintains, and calibrates standard equipment and maintains a clean and safe working environment.Completes appropriate forms and documentation regarding tasks and requests; receives direction from other technicians or chemists on specialized or complex issues.Performs basic calculations to prepare and finalize formulationsPerforms basic technical tests based on formulas and project requirements; tasks are more standard and require limited judgment within established guidelines. Prepares basic samples, materials, equipment, and other required tools for laboratory tests or development. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have 6 months lab experience.
