Required Qualifications

• Masters or bachelor’s in computer science or related field. (degree in bachelor)
• 12+ years applicable experience, with 4+ years direct people management experience preferred. (experience, 12 years)
• Good level of understanding of experience in, and ability to mentor in one's own technical/functional disciplines (experience)
• Proficient in embedded C++ software development for safety-critical medical console devices. (experience)
• Strong experience with IOS and Embedded Linux platforms, including BSP integration and kernel configuration. (experience)
• Solid understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), including task scheduling and interrupt handling. (experience)
• Hands-on expertise with C++ Linux application development, including IPC, memory management, and system-level optimization. (experience)
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture principles, specifically Embedded Software. (experience)
• Strong experience with device connectivity protocols including UART, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and USB for inter-device and peripheral communication. (experience)
• Familiarity with the Yocto Project for building and customizing embedded Linux distributions for target hardware platforms. (experience)
• Good communication skills and ability to work in Agile development environments. (experience)
• Talented performance coach who is skilled at providing actionable feedback to team members, setting clear performance objectives, and managing team member performance. (experience)
• General knowledge of the healthcare market and competitors. (experience)
• Experience executing a talent and performance management strategy. (experience)

Responsibilities

• Experience with managing the Software development including embedded and IOS applications
• Create a long term strategy for the SW development function and drive functional excellence initiatives to deliver high-quality R&D functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technology development.
• Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.
• Guide the team on Agile development process, including planning, code reviews, code hygiene, and alignment with important product releases
• Collaborate with SW test, PM's, SW Quality, DevOps and divisional leaders to anticipate and mitigate the foreseeable concerns from the projects
• Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff.
• Coordinates sessions with project managers/core team leaders to look for opportunities for staff to learn about new initiatives or volunteer on new projects.
