Work Flexibility: HybridPosition SummaryThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of innovative orthopedic products from concept through market launch within a regulated medical device environment. The role focuses on technical execution, product development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer, clinical, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position also provides guidance and technical support to engineering colleagues while contributing expertise to project activities.Key responsibilities include collaborating with clinical advisors to gather input for the design and evaluation of new Trauma and Extremities products, organizing cadaver labs and consultant meetings, and developing implant and instruments. What you will doDirect and manage the workflow of engineers within the scope of assigned projectsInterface with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new products in Trauma and Extremities. This includes organizing and managing cadaver labs and consultant panel meetingsModel and detail implant and instrument designs utilizing Pro/Engineer design softwareManage the design control creation through the New Product Development Process (NPDP). Work with Program Managers and oversee technical teams to ensure project plans adhere to agreed upon timelines and are within the scope of the NPDP guidelinesLead and participate on cross-functional design teams to develop new product, address design issues, and maintain existing designsUtilize advanced knowledge of the surgical procedure and relationships with clinical advisors to develop innovative solutions to solve problems and satisfy customer needsEstablish and maintain relationships with key design consulting groups in order to recognize and anticipate industry trends and user needsMentor other engineers in project management best practices and industry trendsWhat you will need:A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, Science, or a related field of study is required for this position.Minimum of 3 years of product development experience in the medical device industry or equivalent is also required.Ideal candidates should also possess the following skills/experiences:Demonstrated ability to lead complex product development initiatives from concept throughrelease.Demonstrated ability to apply design controls within a regulated industryDemonstrated ability to achieve work objectives both independently and as a leader/member ofa work teamDemonstrated experience with a parametric CAD design package. The compensation information posted for this role may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount depending on the role. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for incentive compensation (such as bonus and/or commissions where applicable), along with Stryker’s comprehensive benefits package. Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the workflow of engineers within the scope of assigned projects
  • Interface with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new products in Trauma and Extremities. This includes organizing and managing cadaver labs and consultant panel meetings
  • Model and detail implant and instrument designs utilizing Pro/Engineer design software
  • Manage the design control creation through the New Product Development Process (NPDP). Work with Program Managers and oversee technical teams to ensure project plans adhere to agreed upon timelines and are within the scope of the NPDP guidelines
  • Lead and participate on cross-functional design teams to develop new product, address design issues, and maintain existing designs
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of the surgical procedure and relationships with clinical advisors to develop innovative solutions to solve problems and satisfy customer needs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key design consulting groups in order to recognize and anticipate industry trends and user needs
  • Mentor other engineers in project management best practices and industry trends
