Is this the right person for you?

Who should talk to Abinash?

Every question below is one Abinash has lived through — you can trace each of them to the record further down this page. If one or more of them is your question, this call is for you. If none of them is, he is probably not the right person, and it is better to know that now.

  • ?What should my CV look like as a civil engineering fresher, especially with a gap?
  • ?What is the PSU interview after GATE like, and how do I prepare for it?
  • ?How do I explain two failed attempts and a gap year in an interview?
  • ?How should I plan GATE Civil preparation around mocks and revision?
  • ?Is coaching worth it at my level, or am I paying for structure I could build myself?
  • ?Is another GATE attempt worth it, or should I take the job in front of me?
  • ?My last attempt went badly. What do I actually change, rather than just working harder?
  • ?How do I prepare while working, or while my batchmates have all started earning?
  • ?What civil engineering and PSU careers open up after a good GATE rank?

Abinash graduated in Civil Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in 2018. His first two GATE attempts went badly — long hours, no strategy — and it was only on the third, after rebuilding everything around practice, mocks, revision and actually reviewing his mistakes, that he got AIR 410 in GATE 2021. The useful thing about him is not the rank. It is that he has been through two years of a plan that was not working and can tell you what he changed.

Why him

  • AIR 410, GATE 2021, Civil Engineering
  • B.Tech, Civil Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad · Class of 2018

Long version: Abinash's own account of getting there.

What a 20-minute call covers

  • What to change after an attempt that did not go to plan — the actual diagnosis, not encouragement
  • GATE Civil: a study plan built around mocks, revision and reviewing mistakes
  • Whether another attempt is worth it, or whether it is time to take the job
  • PSU and civil engineering career routes after GATE
  • Preparing seriously while working or while everyone around you has moved on

One focused conversation, not a programme. If what you need is ongoing mentoring, say so on the call and he will tell you honestly whether he is the right person for it.
