Mrityunjay began his career as an Assistant Engineer at KMC Constructions, doing maintenance planning and execution, before returning to study — a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, then postdoctoral research at Mahindra University on an ARDB-funded aerodynamic panels project, at IISc Bengaluru on a Shell-funded pipeline project, and now an Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship at IIT Kharagpur. He works in computational mechanics, structural dynamics and advanced composites, has eight peer-reviewed papers and reviews for the Journal of Vibration and Control. The route from a site job to funded research is one he has actually walked.
