This hands-on position partners closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and site leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety performance.The EHS Specialist maintains a visible presence on the production floor, actively engaging with employees to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, support incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively. This role also supports EHS reporting and analytics by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), maintaining dashboards, analyzing trends, and providing actionable insights that support operational excellence and risk reduction.Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor to promote safe work practices and reinforce EHS expectationsConduct routine safety observations, inspections, and workplace assessments to identify hazards and potential risksAssist in incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-upTrack, monitor, and report EHS performance metrics, including both leading and lagging indicatorsDevelop and maintain EHS dashboards, reports, and data analytics to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiativesSupport Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, safety observations, compliance audits, and inspection activitiesCoordinate and maintain EHS training records, documentation, and employee participation trackingPartner with supervisors and employees to address safety concerns and drive timely resolution of identified issuesAssist with implementation and maintenance of site EHS programs, policies, and proceduresMaintain accurate records related to incidents, inspections, training, corrective actions, and compliance requirementsSupport regulatory compliance efforts and ensure adherence to OSHA and company EHS standardsPromote employee engagement through participation in safety initiatives, awareness programs, and continuous improvement activitiesProvide support for off-shift or weekend operations as required by business needsDemonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning in EHS disciplinesKnowledge of workplace hazard recognition and risk mitigation practicesUnderstanding of EHS compliance requirements, safety inspections, incident documentation, and corrective action managementAbility to collect, analyze, and summarize EHS data to support business decisionsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookExperience with Power BI, SAP, EHS management systems, or other reporting platforms preferredAbility to support audits, inspections, training documentation, and safety program administrationStrong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting, recordkeeping, and data managementMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferredAssociate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing or EHS experience may be considered1–3 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, maintenance, or operations environment preferredExperience supporting or working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferredWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety principles, hazard identification, and incident reporting practicesExperience with EHS metrics, KPI reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development preferredWhat's In It for You: At Air Products we foster a culture of inclusion where every voice is heard, and everyone feels they belong and matter. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred (degree in occupational safety)
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing or EHS experience may be considered (experience)
  • 1–3 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, maintenance, or operations environment preferred (experience, 3 years)
  • Experience supporting or working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred (experience)
