We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for our Santa, Clara, CA plant and distribution terminal.About the FacilityThe Santa Clara operation includes:Air Separation Units (ASUs)Nitrogen production and liquefaction facilitiesArgon production systemsIndustrial gas distribution terminalRegional pipeline and customer supply systems serving multiple customers throughout the Bay Area.Key Job ResponsibilitiesAs an I&E Technician, you will:Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical equipment.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on analyzers, transmitters, control valves, pressure and temperature instruments, and electrical distribution equipment.Troubleshoot industrial control systems, PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, motor starters, motors, transformers, UPS systems, and switchgear.Support critical safety system testing and validation activities.Maintain plant gas analyzers, including moisture analyzers, oxygen analyzers, and process instrumentation.Perform inspections and maintenance of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment.Utilize SAP and computerized maintenance systems to document maintenance activities and equipment history.Support plant outages, turnaround activities, and major maintenance projects.Coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors, and customers to safely execute maintenance activities.Participate actively in site safety programs and promote Air Products' safety culture.Hiring RequirementsA high school diploma or GED is required.Minimum five years of industrial maintenance (plant maintenance preferred) experience in instrumentation, electrical, controls, manufacturing, chemical processing, utilities, or similar industrial environments.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights when required.Ability to read and interpret:Electrical schematicsSingle-line diagramsP&IDsInstrument loop drawingsExperience troubleshooting:Industrial electrical systemsInstrumentation and analyzersVFDs and motor controlsWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is:Safety-focused and committed to doing the job the right way.A self-starter who can work independently and make sound decisions.Comfortable troubleshooting complex systems in a fast-paced industrial environment.Eager to learn plant operations and expand technical expertise.A strong communicator who works effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and customer personnel.What's In It for YouAt Air Products we foster a culture of inclusion where every voice is heard, and everyone feels they belong and matter.
