Amazon Leo's accounting group offers opportunities in Revenue, Supply Chain, and Infrastructure Accounting. Key job responsibilities - Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues. - Take end-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners across the accounting and reporting process. - Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers pertaining to new business initiatives and complex arrangements/transactions. - Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in your area and to influence the design of systems, processes, and controls for emerging and growing business activities. - Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results and close the books each month. - Analyze complex processes and systems data. - Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization. - Lead the delivery of accounting tasks and projects, and enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups. - Deal with ambiguity and prioritize effectively based on multiple business needs. - Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.

95,400 - 163,200 USD / yearly

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience (experience, 5 years)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (degree in accounting or related field)
  • Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions (experience)
  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency (experience)
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification (experience)
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients (experience)
  • Experience working in the satellite internet and/or telecommunications industries (experience)
