Job Description

For over 11 years, Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. AWS offers over 100 fully featured services to millions of active customers around the world—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—to power their infrastructure. The Business and Product Operations (BPO) team is a diverse team that supports infrastructure and other foundational initiatives that span and support Sales (AWS Professional Services), Marketing and Support teams within AWS. We are looking for a Contract Specialist to support AWS Professional Services, for both public and commercial sectors, and AWS Legal by drafting ProServe Orders (PSOs), Work Orders (WO) and Work Order Amendments (WOA) to support AWS Professional Services in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region during the contract creation and drafting process. This is a unique role, with similar functions to a business operations analyst and a contract analyst. Therefore, we are looking for a motivated self-starter who’s passionate about contracts, has an eye for detail, and has the right level of contract drafting skills allowing them to work autonomously and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - The candidate will work side by side with ICON, Sales Enablement, Business Process Managers, Business Operations, and AWS Legal to ensure contracts meet AWS’s high standards for contract and legal requirements. - They will also support AWS Professional Services by providing operational, contract, policy compliance and guidance, enabling them to provide a positive customer experience. - The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic, like being continually challenged, demonstrate sound judgment, possess problem-solving skills and have attention to detail. They should be able to manage the contracting process from request through to signature, identify potential risks in their contracts, and be able to recommend and implement improvements to the contract work-flow. - The candidate will also need to earn trust with a broad range of stakeholders and business partners, and act as a trusted advisor to consult with stakeholders on contracting matters. Key job responsibilities • Own the contracting process, creating documentation, gathering and validating approvals, tracking status, and communication between key stakeholders • Ability to identify scope and delivery risks, and ensure policy compliance • Engage with ICON, global BPO team, senior stakeholders, and business partners in the APJ region • Drafting key commercial contract terms within a PSO, WO, and WOA. • Communicate daily with cross functional teams including Sales, Legal, Operations, and Management • Identify and assist to implement operational improvements and enhancements that meet business requirements • Be a part of ICON projects for continuous improvement • Become the contract creation subject matter expert A day in the life • Lead contract drafting of PSOs, WOs, and WOAs • Act as trusted advisor to customers on operations, contracts, and policies for the end-to-end contract work-flow • Liaise daily with business partners to ensure SOWs meet project deliverables, contract and legal requirements • Connect and collaborate with the APJ ICON team (and broader global ICON team) to identify and simplify policy and process improvements About the team About the team The ICON team provides contract support services to the AWS Professional Service team (Sales) for both public and private sector. Following the sun, we have teams located in AMER (Seattle), EMEA (Dublin) and APAC (Sydney, Japan).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field (degree in finance)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience (experience, 2 years)
  • Experience reviewing and drafting contract terms in technology licensing and service contracts, or a broad range of standard commercial contracts (experience)

  • Experience working with or having knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies (experience)
