Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience (experience, 5 years)
• 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience (experience, 5 years)
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience (experience, 5 years)
• 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience (experience, 5 years)
• 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience (experience, 5 years)

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience (experience, 6 years)
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience (experience, 6 years)
• MBA, or CPA (experience)
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL (experience)
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) (experience)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results (experience)

Responsibilities

• Own the investment thesis for major hardware programs, shaping multi-billion-dollar capital allocation decisions.
• Define the cost and performance strategy that determines where AWS invests to win competitively at scale.
• Bring recommendations directly to AWS senior leadership and influence the hardware roadmap.
• Lead TCO and NPV analysis to evaluate technology trade-offs and rank investment options against customer requirements.
• Own the cost framework that underpins every hardware investment decision, and drive it to be faster and sharper.
• Influence high-stakes business decisions with sharp, data-driven financial analysis.
• Shape technology development and deployment choices to maximize performance per dollar.
• Own accurate, defensible hardware costing that leadership can trust.
• Build and improve the financial tools and processes that scale decision-making.
