Job Description

The Sequence Models team serves a centralized role developing sequence models to fundamentally understand Amazon's customers' journeys across all Amazon products (including Stores, Prime Video, Audible, Music, Twitch, etc.). These models will unlock new, actionable insights to optimize the customer experience, including when and how we serve ads. We leverage a host of scientific technologies to accomplish this mission, including Generative AI, classical ML, Causal Inference, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision. As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the team, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving program execution on this highly ambiguous, highly impactful initiative across Amazon. You will work across Product, Science, and Engineering to drive this initiative spanning SVP/CEO organizations. You will own the planning, execution, and delivery of this large-scale technical program that spans multiple teams, product organizations, and business stakeholders. You'll work at the intersection of Ads, Stores and Media technology, machine learning, and distributed systems to solve ambiguous problems that shape the future of the company. Key job responsibilities - Own end-to-end program management for strategic technology initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations - Drive technical strategy and roadmap alignment across engineering, product, science, and business teams - Lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges - Establish program governance, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility and accountability at the SVP and CEO level - Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks across large-scale distributed systems serving billions of requests daily - Partner with engineering leaders to influence architecture decisions and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance - Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across Amazon Ads, Stores, AWS, Media and Stores organizations - Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and best practices - Mentor and develop other TPMs across the organization - Represent this technical program in executive-level reviews and planning sessions A day in the life You will solve real-world problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data, generate business insights and opportunities, design simulations and experiments, and develop statistical and ML models. The team is driven by business needs, which requires collaboration with other Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across the advertising organization. You will prepare written and verbal presentations to share insights to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication. You will work with colleagues with deep expertise in ML, NLP, CV, Gen AI, and Causal Inference with a diverse range of backgrounds. We partner closely with top-notch engineers, product managers, sales leaders, and other scientists with expertise in the ads industry to build scalable modeling and software solutions.

Salary

203,500 - 275,300 USD / yearly

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience (experience, 7 years)
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience (experience, 7 years)
  • 5+ years of software development experience (experience, 5 years)
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems (experience)
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules (experience)
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition (experience)

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience (experience, 8 years)
