Job Description

AWS have an exciting Design Electrical Engineer opportunity to join the team in EMEA region. In this role you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure and add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. Key job responsibilities Key job responsibilities You will use your Electrical expertise to: Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region. Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered. Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions and act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline. Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. Are detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants. Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design) A day in the life Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers. You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, with up to 25% travel. About the team AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience (experience, 5 years)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (degree in electrical engineering or a related field)
  • Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant (experience)
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities (experience)
  • Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer License (experience)
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region (experience)
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals (experience)
