Job Description
Amazon Advertising is looking for a curious and resourceful Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join the Self-Service Support team. Our team ensures that advertisers using our applications can answer their own questions or solve their own problems whenever possible through Help content, and have an easy path to contact Amazon when it’s not possible. The BIE will build critical backend datasets and related business reporting to measure opportunities and performance of our support products. They will also use ML analysis to inform our in-application Help targeting strategy. Key job responsibilities *Design and build backend datasets from various data sources. *Collaborate with Product Managers to create innovative KPIs to assess our business. *Own the creation and production of reports and dashboards on current performance trends. *Identify requirements and coordinate with engineering and business leads on implementation. *Pull and synthesize data and conduct business analyses that drive strategic decisions or process improvements, including measurement of A/B tests. *Identify and drive improvements in reporting automation and metrics. *Build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders. *Run ML-based analysis to inform targeting strategies.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional or military experience (experience, 10 years)
- 5+ years of SQL experience (experience, 5 years)
- 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience (experience, 1 years)
- 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience (experience, 1 years)
- 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience (experience, 1 years)
- 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience (experience, 1 years)
- 5+ years of as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Analyst, or a related occupation experience (experience, 5 years)
- 1+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience (experience, 1 years)
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field (degree in foreign equivalent in computer science)
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets (experience)
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results (experience)
- Experience with AWS technologies (experience)
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills. (experience)
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs (experience)
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership (experience)
