This role assists with implementing and maintaining network security technologies and controls to help ensure that systems, applications, and networks are protected against evolving cyber risks. Working closely with IT, infrastructure, application, and security teams, the Associate Information Security Engineer helps integrate security into technology solutions and operational processes. The role participates in day-to-day network security operations, supports risk management activities, and helps ensure compliance with applicable security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong communication and analytical skills, a solid understanding of cybersecurity and networking fundamentals, and a desire to learn and grow within a collaborative enterprise security team.Roles & Responsibilities:Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, DMARC, DNS, and VPNAssist in reviewing and implementing security configurations in accordance with enterprise standardsSupport the implementation of enterprise network security solutions and related technical documentationParticipate in evaluating security technologies and contribute recommendations under guidanceDevelop technical expertise in network security technologies while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teamsNetwork Security EngineerCreate, modify, and remove security policies and objects within the network security toolset (Fortinet UTM, WAF, DMARC, and Netskope ZTNA) in a manner to protect Amgen’s computerized network, while providing access to enable business systems and processesTroubleshoot technical issues that are related to Network Security offeringsAdminister Enterprise Restricted Browser (Island.io) by working with Partner Enablement team to identify and grant required access to business enabling services across Amgen’s servicesDevelop scripts (e.g., Python, Fortinet Security Fabric) and build automation solutions, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve network security operations and operational efficiencyBuild and present knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to educate staff on network security processesAssist with evaluating, onboarding, and implementing security tools to help protect Amgen's enterprise network environmentAssist in providing remediation guidance for identified security issuesDraft network security policies, standards and guidance documentationBasic Qualifications and Experience:Any degree with 2 - 6 years of experience in network or network security or related fieldFunctional Skills:Must-Have Skills:Working knowledge of enterprise network operations, firewall operations, intrusion detection & prevention, web proxy, and IPSec/SSL-VPN/ZTNADemonstrated ability to troubleshoot enterprise network security solutionsExperience creating technical documentation using Lucidchart, Visio, or similar diagramming toolsFamiliarity with enterprise change management processes using ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar platformsGood-to-Have Skills:Experience using and administering Fortinet product solutions including FortiGate, FortiWeb, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiADC, and FortiAuthenticatorExperience with Netskope security product offering including Next Generation Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Private Access, Cloud Firewall, and SkopeAIExperience with endpoint protection, cloud security, and incident responseExperience with DMARC email reputation security using ValimailExperience using InfoBlox IPAMExperience with AWS, Azure, and GCP cloudsProfessional Certifications:NSE 4 (preferred)Netskope Security Cloud Operation and Administration (preferred)NSE 5 FortiManager (preferred)NSE 5 FortiAnalyzer (preferred)CCNA (preferred)CompTIA Security+ (preferred)Soft Skills:Strong English verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work effectively with global, virtual teamsHigh degree of initiative and self-motivationAbility to manage multiple priorities successfullyTeam oriented, with a focus on achieving team goalsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENTAmgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status..
