Working within Amgen deCODE genetics, you will generate biological insights that advance drug target discovery and precision medicine.This position is designed for a highly motivated scientist interested in working at the intersection of statistical genetics and artificial intelligence (AI). The fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading scientists across Amgen deCODE genetics and the broader Amgen Research organization while pursuing independent research in a highly collaborative scientific environment.Key Responsibilities include:Conduct independent research at the intersection of statistical genetics and artificial intelligence.Develop and apply statistical, computational, and machine learning methods for the analysis of large-scale human genetic and biomedical datasets.Analyze population-scale genomic and phenotypic data to generate biological insights relevant to therapeutic discovery.Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of genetic analysis workflows and analytical methods across Amgen deCODE genetics.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across human genetics, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and therapeutic discovery.Present scientific findings and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.This is a four-year fellowship within the Amgen Research & Development Postdoctoral Program, designed to provide advanced scientific training and career development opportunities for outstanding early-career researchers.What We Expect of YouThe Postdoctoral Fellow we seek is a scientist with these qualifications:Basic QualificationsDoctorate degree (PhD) completed prior to the start date from an accredited college or university in Statistics, Human Genetics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.Preferred QualificationsStrong record of scientific achievement demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.Expertise in statistical genetics, biostatistics, or computational genomics.Experience analyzing large-scale human genetic, genomic, or other high-dimensional biomedical datasets.Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or other computational approaches for biomedical research.Experience developing or applying computational methods for large-scale data analysis.Proficiency in programming using Python, R, C/C++, or similar languages.Experience working in Linux environments and with high-performance computing is desirable.Demonstrated ability to develop innovative analytical approaches to address complex scientific questions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.Passion for advancing human genetics through innovative research.What You Can Expect From UsThe Amgen Postdoctoral Program provides fellows with the opportunity to conduct innovative research in a world-class biotechnology environment while receiving mentorship from scientific leaders across multiple disciplines. Required Qualifications
