A Scientist at Amgen is responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, and interpreting data. They prepare technical reports, summaries, and protocols and present study results at team meetings. They also assist in maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.Responsibilities:Design and execute in vitro and ex vivo assays to evaluate siRNA delivery and functionDevelop human primary cell-based systemsSupport target validation and mechanism-of-action studies for siRNA therapeuticsCollaborate with Delivery/chemistry teams, Translational and biomarker teamsEstablish and optimize Flow cytometry panels, qPCR / RNA-based readoutsContribute to IND-enabling studies and data packagesBasic Qualifications:Doctorate degreeMaster’s degree and 2 years scientific experienceORBachelor's degree and 4 years scientific experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with siRNA / RNA therapeutics (delivery or functional assays), Erythroid biology and hematopoiesis.Strong background in Flow cytometry (multi-color), Cell-based functional assaysFamiliarity with gene expression (qPCR, RNA assays), target engagement assays Experience working in cross-functional drug discovery teamsKnowledge on Hemoglobinopathies, conjugated delivery systems, CRISPR or gene editing is a plusWhat you can expect of usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
