Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career.Specialist Software EngineerWhat you will doThe Specialist Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software applications and solutions that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable software solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team and learn from experienced engineers.You will be part of a team specifically focusing on enterprise resource management capabilities. Amgen is using fully integrated and best-in-class technologies, having various enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, Workday, Veeva, Planisware, or Anaplan; enterprise collaboration platforms such as O365, SharePoint Online and MS Teams, as well as vertical-specific platforms in R&D, Operations, Process Development and Commercial/Marketing areas.Roles & Responsibilities:Lead in the design, development, and implementation of software applications and modulesTake ownership of Development/configuration of user stories in collaboration with experienced engineersCreate and maintain documentation on software design and configurationHelp turn ideas into basic working code through simple prototypes and proof-of-conceptsContribute to both front-end and back-end development tasks using various Amgen preferred platforms/tools, with mentorshipWork with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating when neededAnalyze business and technical requirements and begin translating them into simple development tasksSupport the execution of unit and integration tests, and contribute to maintaining software qualityLead others in identifying and fixing minor bugs and defects during development or testing phasesOwn the maintenance and support of applications by monitoring performance and reporting issuesLead development CI/CD pipelines as part of DevOps practices and assist in the release processWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
