We are the Applied AI team (AI Studio). AI Studio is Amgen’s enterprise engine for turning high-value business challenges into scalable AI products. We partner with key business partners across the company to identify the right opportunities, shape them into actionable use cases, and design, build, and launch AI products responsibly. Our work spans the full lifecycle—from early discovery and rapid prototyping to production deployment, reuse across the enterprise, and measurable business impact.The role leverages domain and business process expertise to detail product requirements as epics and user stories, along with supporting artifacts like business process maps, use cases, and test plans for the software development teams. This role involves working closely with developers and business analysts to ensure that the technical requirements for upcoming development are thoroughly elaborated. This enables the delivery team to estimate, plan, and commit to delivery with high confidence and identify test cases and scenarios to ensure the quality and performance of IT Systems. You will collaborate with Product Managers and developers to maintain an efficient and consistent process, ensuring quality deliverables from the team.Roles & Responsibilities:Collaborate with System Architects and Product Managers to manage business analysis activities, ensuring alignment with engineering and product goalsCapture the voice of the customer to define business processes and product needsWork with Product Managers and customers to define scope and value for new developmentsCollaborate with Engineering and Product Management to prioritize release scopes and refine the Product backlogEnsure non-functional requirements are included and prioritized in the Product and Release BacklogsFacilitate the breakdown of Epics into Features and Sprint-Sized User Stories and participate in backlog reviews with the development teamClearly express features in User Stories/requirements so all team members and stakeholders understand how they fit into the product backlogEnsure Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done are well-definedWork closely with UX to align technical requirements, scenarios, and business process maps with User Experience designsStay focused on software development to ensure it meets requirements, providing proactive feedback to stakeholdersDevelop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholdersMaintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changesIdentify inefficiencies and bottlenecksRecommend data-driven solutions for process optimizationLead and facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, ensuring effective planning, execution, and continuous delivery of business value.Coach and mentor teams on Agile, Scrum, and SAFe principles, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Proactively identify and remove impediments, manage risks and dependencies, and enable teams to achieve sprint and program objectives.Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure backlog readiness, alignment of priorities, and successful delivery of strategic initiatives.Monitor team performance through Agile metrics, drive process improvements, and support the development of high-performing, self-organizing teamsBasic Qualifications and Experience:Any degree and 5 to 9 years of Life Science/Biotechnology/Pharmacology/Information Systems experience Functional Skills:Must-Have Skills:Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges in drug discovery with technologyExcellent communication skills and the ability to interface with business leadership with confidence and clarityExperience in writing requirements for development of modern web application and/or automation solutionsHas experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRAExperience with business process design / re-engineeringGood-to-Have Skills:Experience with tools like SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, and process capability analysisExperience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum)Experience with BMPN modeling toolsFamiliarity with GxP, CFR 21 Part 11 and systems validationFamiliarity with Automation technologies (e.g., UiPath, Docusign, Power Platform, Chat GPT, etc.)Demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needsUnderstanding of scientific software systems strategy, governance, and infrastructureExperience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeysFamiliarity with low-code, no-code test automation softwareTechnical thought leadershipAble to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business termsJira Align experienceKnowledge of network security protocols and tools (e.g., IPSEC, SSL, IDS/IPS, firewalls)Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodologyProfessional CertificationsSAFe for Teams certification (Optional but valuable)Lean Six Sigma certification (Optional but valuable)BABOK (BA Body of Knowledge) certifications (e.g., ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) (Optional but valuable)Soft Skills:Able to work under minimal supervisionSkilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members.
