The Principal Engineer – Process Reliability and Process Transfer is a senior technical leadership role responsible for driving innovation, development, and optimization of semiconductor manufacturing processes across wafer fabrication, assembly, and/or test. This role combines deep process engineering expertise with cross-functional leadership to enable Process transfer, yield and reliability matchingKey ResponsibilitiesLead development, integration, and qualification of advanced semiconductor processes.Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and cost optimization using DOE, SPC, and data analytics.Enable NPI readiness and transition from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability, and foundry partners.Lead failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.Required QualificationsMS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.10–15+ years of semiconductor process development experience.Strong expertise in process integration, fab or assembly processes.Experience with DOE, SPC, failure analysis, and reliability methodologies.Knowledge of semiconductor equipment and process control systems.Preferred QualificationsExperience with advanced process technologies or foundry environments.Track record of patents, publications, or innovation leadership.Experience working across global manufacturing sites.Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.Leadership Expectations (P5 – Principal Level)Recognized technical leader and subject matter expert.Drives strategic technical direction without direct people management.Influences cross-functional decisions and technology roadmap.Operates with high autonomy and accountability.Success MetricsYield improvement and defect reduction.Successful NPI ramp to volume production.Process capability improvements (Cp/Cpk).Cost and cycle time optimization.Technology readiness and implementation success.For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
