R262836 Staff System Applications Engineer – San Jose, CAAbout the RoleJoin ADI’s Consumer Audio team working with leading OEMs to deliver next-generation audio playback systems.As a Staff System Applications Engineer, you will serve as a hardware system-level technical expert and customer-facing authority, driving the successful integration of ADI solutions in portable audio and class-d speaker amplifier signal chains, with a focus on smart amplifiers and power-aware system optimization for high-volume consumer products.This role spans hardware, power, signal processing, and system optimization—translating complex customer requirements into high-performance, production-ready designs. You will combine domain expertise with the ability to operate across system boundaries, while influencing product direction through direct customer engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a trusted technical partner to key customersSolve complex system-level challenges across hardware, firmware, and algorithmsSupport customer evaluation, bring-up, validation, and production rampDrive system performance optimization, including tuning and algorithm integrationSupport and define system architectures across audio signal chain, speaker path, and power integrationDeliver reference designs, validation strategies, and debug supportInfluence product direction and roadmap through customer insightsMust Have SkillsStrong system-level debugging and problem-solving skillsExperience in consumer audio systems or related mixed-signal / embedded platformsProven success in a customer-facing engineering roleWorking knowledge of audio or system performance fundamentalsExperience in one or more areas:Analog/mixed-signal hardwareAcoustics or electro-acoustic systemsPower systems (including DC/DC)Signal processing systemsEmbedded or firmware-based systemsAbility to operate effectively across multiple technical domains with a system mindsetPreferred QualificationsPrevious work supporting high-volume consumer productsExperience with speaker protection algorithms, audio tuning and enhancementExposure to acoustic or electro-acoustic systems, measurements and tuningFamiliarity with audio DSP conceptsMechanical design and prototyping experienceProgramming or scripting skillsPCB design experience Language skills: KoreanWhat Sets You ApartYou bring depth in one technical area and curiosity across others You think in terms of systems, not silosYou thrive in customer-facing, high-impact environments You balance technical rigor with practical executionFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
