Staff Engineer, System ApplicationsAnalog Devices (ADI) is seeking a System Applications Engineer to join our customer‑facing solutions team. This team supports a broad range of industry‑leading, high‑performance linear solutions and standard products across end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, and communication systems, with a strong focus on aerospace and defence systems and ADEF platforms.The System Applications Engineer is responsible for developing system‑level applications, including embedded software, FPGA IP, and application software built on top of ADI’s high‑performance RF communication systems and ADEF platforms. Working as part of a cross‑functional team, the engineer leads the definition, development, implementation, and documentation of system solutions; interfaces with field teams and customers to gather requirements and deliver technical training; and provides technical support for ADI’s global customer base.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop, and maintain software projects for embedded systems, including processor‑, FPGA‑, and microcontroller‑based platformsDevelop and integrate FPGA IP and embedded software for system‑level and application‑specific solutionsPerform system bring‑up, validation, and lab integration, including hardware–software co‑debug, RF testing, and performance characterisation on ADEF platformsInterface directly with customers and field teams to gather system and application requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and support the definition of system architecturesCollaborate closely with global engineering, marketing, and applications teams to deliver integrated system‑level applicationsProvide customer support through official ADI support channels and contribute to customer enablement activitiesEssential Skills and CompetenciesBS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS), with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded software for RF communication systemsStrong experience with embedded Linux software developmentSolid experience with FPGA‑based systems, including FPGA IP development and design targeting platforms such as AMD/Xilinx or Intel (Altera)Proficiency in software development languages including C, C++, and shell scriptingExperience with MATLAB® and Simulink® for model‑based design and code generationExperience with source‑code management (Git, SVN), cross‑compilers, and in‑circuit debugging toolsExcellent software and system‑level design, problem‑solving, and analytical debugging skillsStrong understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and RF communication protocolsAbility to work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative system solutionsAbility to understand and work with large and complex technical documentationFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
