As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service. Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers] in installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipmentUse digital analytics for troubleshooting Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues, with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers [Customer Engineers]Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided)Coordinate and communicate directly with customersParticipate in projects/assignments in meeting organization goalsFulfill additional duties, as assignedMinimum Qualifications: Completion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification1–2 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical fieldAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematicsExperience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challengesBasic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamicsFamiliarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimetersEffective written and verbal communication skillsBasic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport, if travel is required.Able to meet all on-site requirements, including safety, environmental guidelines, and customer/Applied protocolsPreferred Qualifications: 2-4 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical fieldAssociate degree in electronics or engineering technologiesKnowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamicsFamiliarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimetersAdditional InformationTime Type:Full timeEmployee Type:Assignee / RegularTravel:Yes, 75% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:NoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Required Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges (experience)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics (experience)
  • Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters (experience)
