This role focuses on managing supplier quality for electrical systems and assemblies, with a strong emphasis on practical understanding of electronic circuits, power systems, and interconnections. The engineer will act as a technical interface to validate supplier deliverables, troubleshoot issues, and ensure robust system integration without owning product design.Key Responsibilities :Develop strong understanding of electrical systems including PCBA, wiring harnesses, connectors, and AC/DC power distributionReview and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system interconnectionsOwn supplier quality for electrical components (PCBA, cable harnesses, power supplies)Evaluate supplier technical capability in electrical assembly, testing, and process controlDrive supplier audits (process, technical, and quality system assessments)Monitor supplier performance (QPPM, DMR, NC trends) and lead improvement actionsLead investigation of electrical failures (e.g., connectivity issues, power faults, intermittent failures)Verify supplier manufacturing processes for electrical assemblies (e.g., soldering, crimping, cable routing, insulation)Validate key quality controls such as inspection methods, ESD handling, and functional testingSupport engineering changes by validating impact to electrical interfaces and system integrationCollaborate with global teams on supplier performance and issue resolutionPreferred Profile :Degree in Electrical / Electronic EngineeringStrong product knowledge on semiconductor capital equipment products and processesStrong hands-on understanding of wiring, electrical connections, and power systemsExperience working with schematics, harness drawings, and system integrationFamiliarity with supplier quality, manufacturing processes, and auditsKnowledge of IPC standards (e.g., soldering, PCBA), ESD, and assembly best practicesAdditional InformationTime Type:Full timeEmployee Type:Assignee / RegularTravel:Yes, 25% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:YesApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong product knowledge on semiconductor capital equipment products and processes (experience)

  • Experience working with schematics, harness drawings, and system integration (experience)
  • Familiarity with supplier quality, manufacturing processes, and audits (experience)
  • Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., soldering, PCBA), ESD, and assembly best practices (experience)

Responsibilities
