As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service. Within our Installation department, we are looking for our Installation Engineer to support European regions.The iTeam (Installation team) stands for the Installation of semiconductors production equipment across the European Region (mainly in Germany, ireland, France and Italy). We roll in, assemble, connect, and test the new systems until we hand over to our service team and our customers for the manufacturing of wafers to kick off.Being part of the Install Task Force is more than a job, it is a way of life. As a team we travel approx. 75 % of our working time, and also get opportunities to support installations worldwide.This position demands technical expertise, customer focus, team involvement and flexibility to travel.Full training on our equipment will be provided through mentoring.Key Responsibilities Perform independently installation tasks (mechanical assembly, electrical connections, robot calibrations), from the integration to the inspection of the tools including troubleshooting in case of issues.Follow all checklists and procedures and ensure correct procedures and schematics are available prior to performing work.Test equipment with assistance from senior engineers, existing documentation and diagnostic techniques.Respond to factory issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls. Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce installation cycle time and costs.Provide accurate reporting of status, hours worked and non-conformances.
