General Profile:Uses best known methods and lean six sigma tools to solve complex manufacturing quality issues.Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization. Solves complex problems with poke yoke solutions.Ability to work in a dynamic and fast pace environment. Driven by passion to deliver world class quality.Has demonstrated a quality risk based/mitigation mindset.Can mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians.Has working knowledge of and experience with quality management systems (e.g. ISO9001:2015, AS9100, etc.).Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular / weekly meetings (MRRT meetings) to address manufacturing NCs and line issues, drive necessary actions for issue containments, root cause analysis and corrective actions.Perform quality audits within manufacturing for compliance with established internal and external standards.Facilitate or lead kaizen events to drive continuous improvement and resolve significant deviation from the standard.Use 8D / lean six sigma methodology to drive continuous improvement projects.Provide governance of corrective and preventative actions.Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers, SQE focals and Onsite Technical Representatives to contain Supplier non-conformance and ensure 8D effectiveness.Aid in the investigation of Customer quality non-conformances caused by manufacturing.Mentor and train Quality / Engg Technicians on existing and new standards as well as adoption of industry best known methods.Functional KnowledgeDemonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in quality management and processes.Business ExpertiseHas knowledge of how Applied Materials interacts within the Semiconductor Business sector.Is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketLeadershipActs as a mentor for colleagues and technicians; ability to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsAbility to translate management vision into tactical actions which drives quality culture improvement at grass rootsProblem SolvingSolves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of informationImpactImpacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policiesFocus on bottom-line impact through quality improvements; develop and execute projects base on ROI and alignment with business objectivesInterpersonal SkillsExplains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensusSeeks to collaborate and integrate others position into the solutionJob DescriptionGovern and perform internal Quality Audits Check for manufacturing compliance to internal standards such as specifications and policiesCollaborate with engineering and operation managers to address root causeLead or Facilitate 8Ds and Kaizen eventsWhen there are significant deviations from the standard, lead 8D investigation. An immediate need to contain the problem and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), to resolve root cause.As needed, facilitate kaizens; geared at quality improvements through technicians, supervisors and engineers’ collaboration.Perform quality stand downs with technicians as needed to convey and correct quality issuesMonitor for any repeats, keep track of results and report out to Executive ManagementCollaborate with Supplier representatives to minimize supplier caused Quality non-conformances Quick engagement with Supplier Quality Engineers to manage responsiveness of suppliers to Mfg. issues with a focus on keeping manufacturing operational.Engagement on stock purges or containments in manufacturing while working with the Manufacturing Engineers to assess the product and prevent a line downFollow up with Supplier Quality Engineers and keep Manufacturing abreast of progressLead Quality continuous improvement projectsIdentify top quality projects based on impact to Quality variance and defect per system rateLead a small team to execute projects from planning through validation/closurePreferredAmerican Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality AuditorFour-year engineering or science degree3+ years of quality engineering experienceSemiconductor experience- Candidates with DDP Product knowledge and manufacturing preferredAdditional InformationTime Type:Full timeEmployee Type:Assignee / RegularTravel:Yes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Preferred Qualifications

  • American Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor (certification)
  • Four-year engineering or science degree (degree in science degree)
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience (experience, 3 years)
  • Semiconductor experience (experience)
  • - Candidates with DDP Product knowledge and manufacturing preferred (experience)
