Job Description:The Restaurants team at BofA Research is responsible for covering approximately 24 listed companies across the restaurant and foodservice distributors sectors. In addition to coverage of publicly traded companies, the team regularly vets a number of private companies for potential IPOs. The candidate for the position should be highly analytical, intellectually curious, and have a deep desire to learn. Given the team’s heavy vetting load and fast pace nature of the restaurant industry, the candidate should also have relevant experience with financial modeling and quantitative analysis. The candidate should possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. The ideal candidate possesses experience in sell-side research, investment banking, or roles that require complex data analysis and statistical modeling. ResponsibilitiesPerform complex financial modeling & valuation workDevelop and analyze databases integral to our research productSeek out new, unusual sources of informationRespond to client inquiries in a timely and effective fashionWrite regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratchDemonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgmentWork with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themesBuild relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companiesParticipate and contribute to client meetings and eventsAttend meetings and interact with key opinion leadersClosely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activityQualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experienceMin 1 year of experience focusing in equity research, wholesale credit, buy side experience or investment banking experienceMust have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-taskStrong writing and modeling skills.
