Join us!Job Description:As an Underwriter on the Global Commercial Banking credit team, you will be responsible for underwriting loans and related credit exposure for a portfolio of middle market companies across a broad range of industries with annual revenues ranging from $50 million to $2 billion in the San Francisco / Greater Bay Area market. Working in close partnership with Relationship Management, Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking and other product teams, you will analyze lending opportunities and perform ongoing portfolio monitoring. You will report to a Senior Credit Manager and work day-to-day with a team of Credit Officers, fellow Underwriters and Credit Analysts.Responsibilities:Partner with credit teammates, relationship management and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutionsEmploy credit and accounting knowledge to structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and bank risk parametersAnalyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and foreign exchange productsPerform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactionsCreate credit approval packages and own the credit approval process from initiation through final decisionConstruct detailed financial cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analysesComplete enterprise value (discounted cash flow), pricing, returns and risk rating modelsEnsure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and proceduresExercise approval authority for certain credit actionsPresent well supported opportunities to credit and risk leadershipPartner with internal and external legal partners to complete loan documentationOversee quarterly monitoring exercises and requirementsSkills:Attention to DetailCredit and Risk AssessmentFinancial AnalysisUnderwritingWritten CommunicationsAnalytical ThinkingCredit Documentation RequirementsFinancial Forecasting and ModelingRecording/Organizing InformationBusiness AcumenCollaborationCollateral ManagementLoan StructuringPrioritizationRequired Qualifications:BA/BS degree required3 to 10 years of Commercial Banking (Middle Market, Large Corporate or Leveraged Finance) underwriting experienceProficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modelingSolid foundation in credit analysis, including evaluation of business risk, industry trends and capital structuresUnderstanding of credit documentation, including term sheets, credit agreements and ancillary agreements (e.g. security, guarantee and intercreditor agreements)Strong written and verbal communication skillsUnwavering attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentAbility to juggle and prioritize multiple transactions and responsibilities at a timeDesired Qualifications: Experience with the syndicated loan execution processKnowledge of derivative products and documentation (i.e. ISDA agreements)Capability to conduct negotiations with clientsShift:1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week: 40Pay Transparency detailsUS - CA - San Francisco - 555 California St - Bofa Center - 555 California (CA5705)Pay and benefits informationPay range$88,000.00 - $187,500.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.Discretionary incentive eligibleThis role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required (degree)
  • 3 to 10 years of Commercial Banking (Middle Market, Large Corporate or Leveraged Finance) underwriting experience (experience, 10 years)
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling (experience)
  • Solid foundation in credit analysis, including evaluation of business risk, industry trends and capital structures (experience)
  • Understanding of credit documentation, including term sheets, credit agreements and ancillary agreements (e.g. security, guarantee and intercreditor agreements) (experience)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (experience)
  • Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy (experience)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment (experience)
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple transactions and responsibilities at a time (experience)
