The Role:Baxter Healthcare is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our Old Toongabbie Plant in an afternoon shift role. In this role you will carry out mechanical repairs and maintain all plant equipment and facilities, guaranteeing seamless operation and adherence to safety regulations. This is an outstanding chance to be part of a top-notch team and support our goal of saving and sustaining lives.This is an afternoon shift role working in a 3pm-11pm shift.Responsibilities:Report incidents, near misses, and hazards using the appropriate report formsImmediately report any serious near misses, hazards, or injuries to senior management and the Environment or Health and Safety teamAlign with government regulations, legal documents, safety, and ethical standards, and acquire legal compliance training as neededTake responsibility for quality (GMP) and regulatory performance in the department to meet the quality programAlign with all regulatory requirements of EH & S and GMAnalyse and troubleshoot mechanically oriented problems using drawings and technical manualsSet up, fix, service, examine, adjust, put into operation, and troubleshoot high-tech machinery and equipment based on hydraulic and pneumatic principlesRead and comprehend hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry governing fluid power systemsUse lean methodology tools like 5 Why, A3, and 6S to improve processesExercise high precision trade skills with various materials and techniques, such as electric arc welding, MIG and TIG welding, and using lathes and milling machinesInstall and fit new or relocated equipmentAssist in investigating upgrades or improvements to existing equipmentProvide data for diagrams and blueprints for existing, redesigned, or new equipmentEvaluate equipment and components, source original or alternative components, and liaise with suppliers to share technical data/specificationsProvide trade mentorship and assistance as part of a work teamBe familiar with the access and use of the MAINPAC software system for maintenance data updatesImplement quality assurance techniques such as GMP, Measurement, Waste Elimination, TMP, 6S, and Lean practicesAssist with investigating root cause equipment failures.Key requirementsProven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing settingA current and relevant recognized Mechanical Trade CertificateProficiency in PC and software toolsWorking knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry governing fluid power systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsCollaborative experience within a team setting.#li-baxgen#LI-JB1#ind-ausEqual Employment OpportunityBaxter is an equal opportunity employer.
