Job DescriptionDiagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs production equipment for electrical and controls issues. Performs daily repair of material movement vehicles and the related track. Support PM activities on production machinery. Day shift 7:00AM - 7:00PM(3-2-2 rotating schedule)ResponsibilitiesTechnical Capability in Electrical Troubleshooting: respond to calls from the production floor to diagnose and fix electrical issues with machinery. Troubleshooting consists of:Reading machine schematicsInvestigating wiring and component issuesPLC and ladder logic troubleshootingRobotic systemsVision systemsLabeling systems Professional Support Attitude: work closely with production operators and technicians to resolve issues in a timely manner. Communicate with production leadership in terms of priority and statusPerform electrical and mechanical repair on plant materials handling system as neededPerform troubleshooting of plant automation systems Document work performed in a timely and detailed manner in work logsAll other duties as assigned by lead/supervisor/managerEducation and Experience:H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. and Minimum of 2 years electrical related experienceor Vocational/Technical School (Curriculum: Electrical Fundamentals, Electrical Troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronics Engineering) andMinimum of 1-year electrical related experienceorAssociate’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics andMinimum of 6 months electrical related experienceOther Skills/KnowledgeElectrical – Thorough knowledge of electrical circuit fundamentals, with experience in troubleshooting, is required. Experience using voltage, amperage, ohm meters, and oscilloscopes. Ability to work from technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot. Ability to read electrical schematics, and wire to a print. Knowledge of required wiring practices per the NEC. Knowledge of safe working practices around electrical cabinets and machinery in general. Controls – Understanding and experience with the following: PLC programming, Electrical drives (Servos, VFDs), Robotics, Vision system/Barcode readers is a plus. General PC skills requiredMachinery – A background in electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting them, especially in a manufacturing environment, is a plus. Professional Support Attitude – Must be able to respond to frequent calls for equipment repair throughout the plant. The interaction with operators, technicians, and leads at all times must be courteous, professional, and timely. Self-Directing – Must be able to use available time away from direct support in a productive manner, without daily oversight. Must be able to use time effectively to respond to calls for support, and yet still complete ongoing required PM and repair activities. Communications – Must be able to communicate to manufacturing, and other controls group members, the work being done and the understood priority. Must be pro-active around bringing observed issues to attention, with possible suggestions for solutions.
