Job DescriptionShift: Night Shift, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Rotating 12-hour schedule using a 2-2-3 pattern (every other weekend off).Position SummaryThe Laboratory Technician performs various laboratory tests and prepares materials required for testing and analysis. This role ensures all testing documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with BD Quality Systems, policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The position requires adherence to all local, state, federal, and BD safety standards, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding BD Values.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory testing using a variety of instruments and methods, including:pH testingSodium chloride assays and identification testingHIAC (sub-visible particle counts)UV/Vis spectrophotometryICP heavy metals and iron analysisEnvironmental monitoringSterility testingHeparin assay testingBioburden testingSet up laboratory equipment and prepare materials for routine testing and validation activities.Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.Maintain accurate sample logs, testing records, and product release documentation.Monitor laboratory inventory and testing schedules; order supplies as needed.Support production equipment and process validation activities.Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization.Ensure proper handling and disposal of microbiological, chemical, and product waste.Perform additional testing, sampling, and related duties as assigned.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or another science-related field preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, and auditors.Strong teamwork skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.Basic knowledge of descriptive statistics.Experience or familiarity with laboratory equipment such as ICP-OES, UV/Vis, and FTIR preferred.Knowledge of pharmaceutical or medical device quality and regulatory requirements preferred.Ability to operate laboratory and chemistry testing equipment safely and effectively.Why Join Us?To find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do. Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or another science-related field preferred. (degree in biology)
