Card Vertical Risk Manager: Network OperationsThe Card Risk Vertical Manager (VRM) role will support Card leadership in the primary areas of strategic network governance, relationship risk, and Network Conflict Risk. In this role, you will lead, advise, and innovate on risk initiatives supporting the Card Association Management team and the Office of Network Relations. Operating in the first line of defense, you will work closely with business partners to identify risk and to ensure our highly visible network operations remain well-managed, resilient, and compliant.Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. Responsibilities:Consult on risk to business partners providing advice and guidance as required Serve as a liaison, interfacing with business partners, Tech, and other assurance functions, such as legal, compliance to drive meaningful reductions in riskEffectively challenge business partners, 2nd line functions (ex: Compliance and Operational Risk Management ) and 3rd line (i.e., Audit/Credit Review)Lead/support regulatory exams and auditsSynthesize data and reporting; perform analysis and bring valuable proactive business insights through evaluation of data provided by team analystsDrive and deliver results and improvements in line with the business’ well managed and risk agendasStay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the businesses Collaborate effectively across multiple levels and organizationsCollaborate effectively between risk, compliance and other business support functions (e.g., legal, privacy) (e.g., operations, risk management, enterprise management, etc.) to achieve objectives and support the organization in delivering on top priorities in a timely and efficient mannerLead or strategically advise on risk assessmentsIs a thought leader in providing guidance to businesses and supporting functions in implementing risk management practices Identify broader needs and lead problem solving using risk forums to influence change and continuous improvement of risk management practices Set direction, manages expectations and influence cross-functional teamsStrong communication and collaboration skillsHere’s what we’re looking for in an ideal teammate:You are a critical thinker who seeks to understand the business, its processes and platforms, risks and control environment.You create energy and an environment that fosters trust, collaboration, and belonging.You possess a relentless focus on quality and timeliness.You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and are intellectually curious.
