Job Description
Senior Analyst, Payments Operations (Hybrid)The Payments Team within Finance Operations at Capital One Travel is seeking a Senior Analyst with robust leadership, analytical, and communication abilities. This role requires a professional with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to manage and execute payment processes across various functions of the organization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in mitigating operational risks, developing and updating procedural frameworks, and overseeing the reporting of critical payment health metrics. Furthermore, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with diverse teams across Capital One Travel Operations to drive the evolution of payment workflows toward a future-state model.Responsibilities:Onboard inventory suppliers in accordance with Capital One Travel policies and best practices. Follow-up with suppliers on outstanding onboarding tasks.Validate financial information with suppliers. Ensure supplier inventory invoices are ingested and properly routed for approval in the Coupa system.Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely approvals of supplier invoices, including assisting with research around discrepancies. Review supplier list to ensure invoices are received and follow-up with suppliers to submit invoices. Create accurate and timely payment batches for approval for check runs.Monitor all payments inboxes and respond to all internal & external questions. Produce comprehensive and real-time risk reporting and monitoring, including payment health metricsManage risks of incorrect payments by ensuring team processes are governed by enhanced controls that meet updated payment standardsSupport risk management activities over enhanced control environment, including procedures maintenance, control testing, and process-level assessmentsCoordinate with Capital One Travel Risk Management, Finance Risk Management and other risk offices on best payment practices across EnterprisePartner with Finance, Operations, Product, and Business teams to streamline processes and resolve issues impacting payments processingReduce operational exceptions and drive efficiencies via automation, elimination, and transfer of processes away from manual touchpointsAssist with ad-hoc projects as necessaryProactively and independently identify, investigate, and drive solutions for process and control enhancements.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 2 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Risk Management or Finance or a combinationPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field1+ years of experience in an analytical position investigating complex data issues and building scalable solutions. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting New York, NY: $105,300 - $120,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100 for Sr. Associate, Accounting Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
