Environmental, Health & Safety SpecialistAbout SiteWindsor, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.Position SummaryWe have an opportunity for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day environmental, health, and safety functions at the site. You will help plan, establish, implement, and maintain programs to ensure the highest level of safety for employees. This position is key to supporting compliance, risk management, and sustainability initiatives across the site.Shift: Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunchLocation: Windsor, ON100% OnsiteThe RoleEnsure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, rules, permits, and licenses relevant to the siteFacilitate training in compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirementsDevelop environmental, health, and safety standards, procedures, and programs in alignment with Catalent standardsConduct risk assessments, job task and safety analysis, and behavior observations to detect and correct unsafe acts or behaviorsLead or co-chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee in accordance with the Terms of ReferenceSupport environmental protection and sustainability initiatives at the site, including waste reduction, energy use, and water use reductionManage and support security programs and protocols, including visitor management (Cloudgate), access control, CCTV management, and incident reportingPerform other duties as requiredThe CandidateMinimum RequirementsCollege diploma or bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Human Resources, or related field is required3+ years of experience working in a health and safety capacity is requiredOccupational Health and Safety Certificate is an assetCanadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is an assetExperience working in a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility is preferredCatalent participates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on a limited basisCandidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming Canadian equivalency as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as World Education Services (WES)While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. Use of manual dexterity is required. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
