Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Role Definition:This position is within Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division providing leadership regarding developing local production and new source introduction for advanced high-pressure fuel systems. You will join a diverse team supporting fuel injector design engineering for new & existing engine applications. This role requires a hands-on presence and offers experience in testing, detailed design, structural and hydraulic analysis, and supplier resiliency development.Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:Assignments are project oriented and incorporate knowledge of current technology as well as an understanding of the entire design and production process.Collaborate with internal & external partners on current and future support needs.Provide technical leadership to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, Service and other areas.Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and performance.Research new materials and production processes. Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of production samples.Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.Develop strong product knowledge and a deep understanding of product function and performance characteristics to effectively lead product maintenance initiatives.Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detailed design and production documents. Participate in buy-build analysis for product components.Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculumSkill Descriptors:Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
