The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and real-world experience, working side-by-side with senior technicians to learn the ins and outs of oil and gas operations. You will gain practical skills, industry knowledge, and mentorship from the best in the field. This will set the foundation for a strong, long-term career.Additional Information:Pay: Pay will start at $21.90/hour and can be adjusted based on experienceSchedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with opportunity for overtime as business demands. On call (weekends) only as business demands.Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.What will you do:At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer serviceProcess incoming iron start to finish. Able to accept equipment from delivery, recertify equipment, load equipment for delivery, complete all associate paperwork, perform quality check, and manage inventory (without supervision) Understand customer requirements throughout the entire refurbishment of flow control products to produce high quality productsClean, strip and inspect all required flow control componentsPrepare flow control products for Gauging, Ultra Sonic, and MPI inspectionsDisassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work areaExhibit and always advocate exemplary safety culture What you will have:Ability to operate hand tools such as pneumatic toolingPossess a sound Mechanical AptitudeDemonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic What Top Candidates will have:Three to six months’ related experience and/or training in the oil and gas field; or equivalent combination of education and experienceWorking knowledge of oil and gas equipmentHave a clean driving record, which generally means: No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months.No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) yearsPhysical Demands: Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hearRequired to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlConsistently lift and/or move up to fifty poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the departmentWork Environment: Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particlesFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibrationNoise Level: Moderate Summary Pay Range:$21.90 - $29.30Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
